The Frozen Carriage

It's Christmas, and Figgy Edmunds is celebrating by taking the festive special steam train from Swanage to Corfe Castle. When she bumps into her friends from the Lyme Regis Women's Swimming Club, there's a moment of awkwardness. But then they're all stumped when the train steams through Corfe Castle station before coming to a sudden halt a short distance along the line. An empty railway carriage is stranded on a bridge, blocking their way. No locomotive, no timetable, no reason for its being there. And only one passenger... a local property developer, left dead inside the abandoned carriage. Dorset Police's DCI Lesley Clarke and her team are close at hand, enjoying their Christmas dinner at a nearby pub. When they arrive on the scene, suspicion falls on a woman spotted near the railway line earlier in the day. But Figgy and her old swimming friend Annie Abbott suspect someone else entirely... Who is on the right track, the police or the amateur sleuths? And will the crime be solved in time for everyone to enjoy Christmas?
