From the Agony of Spiritual Tests to the Ecstasy of Communion with God

»Initiating spiritual tests represent all the direct and indirect actions by means of which a human being, on a genuine spiritual path, is faced with in crucial situations. Out of these experiences, qualities or inner spiritual accomplishments can be assessed at face value. Moreover, these qualities and accomplishments are unveiled at the end, according to the reaction of the being which is spiritually tested. The role of spiritual tests is to validate or invalidate the aspirant´s value; much like a university student needs to pass an exam in order to prove his knowledge and understanding of the tested subject.«
